Meet The Principal

Welcome to the Waterboro Elementary School website.  It has been my pleasure and privilege to have served as Principal for 27 years.  Previous to this position I taught 6th grade, 7th grade and served as an Assistant Principal and Principal in Windham.  I also have an extensive background in coaching soccer, having trained youth players from U10 to U19.  A highlight of my coaching career has been participating with my teams representing Maine at several regional championships and taking a team on a European tour. I have refereed soccer for many years and am still involved in youth soccer as a referee assignor.  My children are grown up and have moved out; my daughter lives in Portland and my son lives in San Francisco, California.
My wife and I live with Gretel, our Golden Retriever.

The Waterboro Elementary School is a large modern facility with a comprehensive level of programs and services.  The building atmosphere is marked by positive expectations, friendly interactions and a commitment to best practices for all students.  We are heavily invested in moving to a performance based education program, in which maximum individual achievement and improvement is the goal.  You can expect the entire staff to focus on children as individuals while still emphasizing the strong sense of community we value.

With an enrollment of nearly 550 students and a staff of 65 adults, communication is key.  Please let us know how we are doing and if there is ever an issue, we are just a call or email away.
